I feel like I’m constantly on the hunt for clothing that can be worn both to work and outside of it. While I’m grateful starched button ups aren’t a requirement in my office (that would make this task impossible), it is still no easy feat! Too trendy, too revealing, or too boring – that’s usually how my search goes. Oh, and add affordable as a requirement to that list. However, I always find at least a few options like this grey layered top (on sale for $29)!

Why do I love this top? It’s versatile. The chiffon bottom layer has the cutest pleats in the black and I love how flowy it is (you can see the wind blowing it in the pictures here). It’s also still, at heart, a crewneck sweater. Come fall, I’m not one to pass up a sweater. I wore this exact outfit to the office my first week in Chicago!

When I think about my office go to, the black and grey combo seems to make a frequent appearance. I actually wore these leggings with this sweater today! When something works, it works, right? Plus, grey is my favorite color. I wanted to incorporate a little color so I added a burgundy shoulder bag. Matt and I snapped these photos right before dinner out in Denver a few weeks back! It seems like this week’s posts are all about Denver (in case you missed Monday’s oversized knit from Lodo).
