Last weekend was my little sister’s bridal shower! If you followed along on InstaStories or saw the gingham goodness on Tuesday (hello spring!), you knew that. I flew back to California to celebrate my favorite bride and help my mom throw her the best shower ever. As MOH, I took this task very seriously. With wedding season around the corner, I thought I’d share the 5 things that I think make for a great bridal shower.
As most of you know, I loved planning our wedding. It’s such an exciting time and I relished every detail of executing the wedding of our dreams! Knowing exactly what I wanted and loving organization made it really easy for me. As a few of you know, Matt and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary on July 4th! If you missed the massive outfit round up from our celebratory trip to Cabo San Lucas, you can still catch it here. Personally, I don’t think any celebration can be complete without a few photos but I’m guessing that doesn’t surprise you. So, I convinced Matt that it would be a good idea to do a “quick” anniversary shoot! On the hottest day on record in Los Angeles (it was triple digits), Matt and I met up with John from Koman Photography to snap a few shots. We were totally sweating on each other during the shoot but hey, what haven’t you see one year into marriage? Not much.
I think it’s safe to say that every bride’s dream is to make it into the pages Style Me Pretty. I can’t remember a time in my life that I wasn’t drooling over the beautiful details and stunning imagery behind every link on their site. When I was wedding planning, I would get lost for hours trying to soak up every ounce of inspiration hoping that our day would be half as magical. Well y’all, we made it! Read yesterday’s feature herewhich includes a few words from yours truly!
One of the most exciting parts of wedding planning for me was picking the dress. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted but I knew I wanted to make a statement. A big statement. Shape, material, color – I didn’t have the slightest clue!
