Newsflash: rain boots aren’t waterproof. Wait, what? Yes, my reaction exactly. If you name something after a natural phenomenon that involves lots of water, you’d think it’d be resistant to it. After my first encounter with snow in these, my feet were freezing but I thought that was the typical plight of a Chicago native. Or perhaps it was just that I intentionally stomped on every square inch of fresh snow (while Matt rolled his eyes, waiting at the door). Turns out this was not the case. I guess the inventor of the rain boot isn’t quite as logical as I would have thought (or hoped). At least I looked cute and got so many compliments on these beauties!
You look super cute! But yeah, I’ve heard rainboots are the worst for snow. They get just as cold as the outdoors and sometimes they can even freeze/crack. WHOOPS! Live & learn?
Yes! I’ve heard of that too! Oh well!
Love this look!
Love that last photo! I look forward to more snow pics.
Your blog is so cute, Jenna! Found you via Twitter. I love all your photos! And those boots? Want! -Madeline
Thank you so much Madeline! Huge fan of Twitter so I look forward to following you as well!
Omg adorable! Love the red with the zebra. Haha and I wouldn’t have known that about rainboots. I just recently found that out about leather when I was trudging through snow to a Broncos game in single digits.
Thanks MK! My leather ones were actually WARMER than these! Just had to do a thorough wash off from all the salt after!
Your zebra sweater and boots are SO cute! (Bummer the boots aren’t water proof!) And the curls in your hair are so pretty! :)
Cute pics! But..those rain boots are waterproof hun. Because it has no linen and its plastic your feet freeze and sweet, hence why they get wet. Wear warm wool sock!
Nice post
