Props to this navy slip dress for spring! One of my pet peeves when it comes to fashion is the lack of adjustable straps. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried on a dress only to realize that extra material for the chest is sitting about 4 inches too high. That doesn’t even begin to touch on the number of “dresses” that are more like “short tunics” on my long torso. When it’s really easy for a brand to make a piece of clothing adjustable (i.e. with spaghetti straps), it baffles me when they don’t. Why wouldn’t they want to cater to more people?

So guess what this slip dress by Splendid has. Yes, adjustable straps. Hallelujah!! I pulled it out of the package last week and breathed a sigh of relief. I have to say, I’m not surprised at all though. Splendid always is making comfortable, figure flattering things that can be worn by people of all shapes, sizes, and heights. They know what they’re doing. I want to try styling it over a striped t-shirt like they did next!

It’s so easy to style this dress from day to night though and it comes in 4 different colors. It could easily be worn with your favorite sneakers. Here, I dressed it up with a moto jacket and heels. I went collarless on the moto jacket here because it just felt like it paired better with the dress but I just saw that my favorite collared moto is currently 35% off! Snag it if it’s left in your size!

These Jakey sandals are also by Splendid and a true testament to how comfortable their shoes are. The block heel makes it really easy to walk around in. Matt and I put these to the test yesterday walking all around River North in Chicago. It was moderately warm so we took advantage and went by the Riverwalk to see what shops are starting to open up.

My sister is coming to visit in a few weeks so I’m trying to find fun places to go! The city gets pretty dead during winter so not much exploring has been done by us! Other than to the White Sox stadium… did you guys see that I got tricked into a boys night Saturday? Me and 7 guys. At a baseball game. Not only that but we did the patio deal that’s all you can eat/drink before the game starts. The one disclaimer they had was that it wasn’t good for vegetarians. It definitely wasn’t! But don’t worry, I drank Franzia. Yes, they had boxed wine. So classy.

I’ve been wearing Splendid sandals in a few of my other posts lately here and here. They are from last season but I’m still so obsessed!

  2. Oh my gosh I SO feel you on the adjustable straps issue! I have a tiny chest, so normally things are draping waaay too low on me, or they’re too short because of my extra-long torso. I love slip dresses that have adjustable straps like this one, and the color is stunning on you!
