I feel like this week has been the week of boots (and of course the 12 best fall scarves). If that tells you anything about my mentality this year, it’s that I plan to go into winter fully prepared. I’ve already found my favorite heeled boot and now I’ve found a great winter boot.
If you hadn’t noticed, Zappos is my go to for footwear because of their fast, free shipping! When Chicago weather takes a turn for the worst, I can get almost anything on my doorstep in about a day. This came in handy so often last year because I was definitely not prepared for winter here. I had no idea that it started to drop below zero in November and had to take advantage of Zappos’ shipping more than a few times!
While I’m slightly more prepared this year, I’m still discovering all the boot brands out there. Kamik was a new brand for me but these shearling trimmed boots were too cute to pass up. I didn’t have any beige winter boots and my other winter boots are pretty heavy so I wanted to try Kamik. What I loved is that they weren’t too wide on my feet and they definitely kept me ultra warm. Matt and I shot these photos along the Chicago Riverwalk and while it was just before a rain storm, I found myself sweating a little on the walk back because of how warm these boots were!
I also love how classic the lace up shearling is on the boots. And they keep you so warm! That means that I won’t have to feel obligated to buy a new pair next year because these will still stay in style. You can also wear them with the top flipped up if you need more coverage on your legs. I can’t tell you how versatile clothing (and footwear) makes such a big difference for those of is in cold climates!
