White Peplum Coat | Pink Sweater (also linked to some cute NSale alternatives above!) | White Skinny Jeans | Taupe Wedges | Pink Tassel Earrings ($12) | Pink Mirrored Sunglasses ($60) | Taupe Satchel Bag
No one wants to think about jackets and coats in July. I don’t think there is anyone less excited to bundle up than myself. After moving to Chicago last fall and enduring the first and longest real winter of my life, I dread any temperature below 65. However, I can’t avoid the inevitable so I’m stocking up on outerwear in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. If I can’t feel my limbs, at least I’ll look cute.
The jackets from the NSale can be broken up into two categories. First, there’s the moto which is the perfect fall piece. It’s great for layering and always brings a sense of edge to your look. If you couldn’t already tell, this lavender suede moto is one of my favorites. I also swear by this faux leather moto that’s only $65. And of course (if it’s still left in your size), this suede moto is a must have as well. Scroll through for my favorites below!
Now let’s talk the more heavy hitting stuff. While I couldn’t bring myself to comb through The North Face selection or puffer coats (I’m not a sucker for punishment), I did browse a few cute transitional pieces. My favorites are this trench coat (I’m really impressed by the quality and fit) and this peplum white coat I’m wearing here. If you’re looking for something extra cute, try this teddy bear one! It’s to die for! And can we just talk about the color?
Outerwear is such an investment that when there are opportunities to get huge discounts like this, I like to seize the day. Of course, I’d rather be dreaming of maxi dresses and beach vacations but I also care about survival. And in Chicago, Mother Nature has no mercy. So Nordstrom, thanks for making the bullet of winter a little less tough to bite.
PS. These were the instascultping jeans I was wearing on IG stories last week! I swear by their slimming capabilities!
