We all know the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the best shopping event of the year. With thousands of items on sale, it can be overwhelming to get to items before they sell out. So if you don’t have time to comb through hundreds of pages of items, let me be your guide. Here are the 10 must have items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to buy NOW before they sell out.

A few things to remember about the #NSale:

  • Don’t be afraid to place multiple orders. Buy these highly anticipated items now and come back to browse some more when you have time. There’s no downside to this!
  • The Nordstrom return policy is very forgiving. If you’re unsure of your size, order multiple and return what doesn’t work for you. If you’re unsure of an item, order it. If you don’t like it, return it. Better safe than sorry!
  • This is a marathon shopping event so get ready. You can check my NSale landing page for daily updates as well as my Instagram!

Here are the 10 must have items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!

1. Basic Tee Under $50.

A basic tee is something you will wear at least once a week during fall and winter. This long sleeved striped tee from last year’s NSale is back and with a v-neck (anything to make it just a little more flattering, right?). I bought every color this morning. It’s that good. It sold out so fast last year so buy now!! I wore last year’s under a military jacket during the fall and underneath sweaters over my favorite faux leather leggings (which are only $65 in the sale!) throughout winter because it’s more of a tunic. I’m usually a Small and wear a XS in this top because it runs big so size down one size. There’s still plenty of room as one size smaller still gets you that relaxed look.

My second pick is truly a basic tee. These Lush v-necks come in handy with almost every type of bottom. I have the white, the navy, and the grey (it’s a really good grey). The fabric is lightweight but not cheap. For $25, this is a steal! I ordered a Small and an XS for a more form fitting look. I love having different fit options with great basics like this! Also, this tee sold out last year!

If you already own these 2 tops, here are a few more of my favorite basics under $50.

2. Over the Knee Boots.

OTKs are often an investment so getting them on major sale feels like Christmas. I have these Marc Fisher over the knee boots and couldn’t be happier with them. Last year’s version lasted me through an entire Chicago winter and I wore them about 3 times a week. The heel isn’t too high either so they are really comfortable. I paired them with dresses or skirts in fall and my favorite leggings for winter. They run true to size and stay up really well.

3. Suede Booties.

These Vince Camuto Booties will be a top seller in this year’s sale so buy them now! They sold out incredibly quickly last year and are only $99 so this is a no brainer. Last year’s version was one of my most sold/liked/you-name-it items from the whole Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Vince usually nails it with this so here are a few more favorites if you’re not sold on those. I walked through Nordstrom on my way home last night to try these all on before purchasing this morning! Here are a few more faves!

4. Classic Cardigan.

Another item that sells out incredibly fast (especially in the smaller sizes). These cardigans will be gone before the sale opens to the public! I have the grey, burgundy, and beige which I rotated throughout the fall. Size down at least one size for a cozy fit and size down 2 sizes for a more structured look. At this price, you won’t feel guilty about ordering multiple! Oh, and it’s super soft with pockets!

5. Faux Leather Moto Jacket.

Also a sell out. I bought last year’s version and it still looks brand new after wearing it weekly. The quality is really good too considering it’s faux leather and only $65. I still get compliments on it every time I wear it and people cannot believe the price! I like to wear it with flowy blouses like this $27 tunic (which I own in 3 colors – white, olive, and pink). I have a small in the moto jacket and the tunic!

PS. If suede is more your thing, this Blank NYC moto jacket is a must. I have the grey and it’s gorgeous! A very well crafted piece and it fits normal sized people really well.

6. Rebecca Minkoff bag.

This was a “kick myself” moment from last year. I hesitated on purchasing the Rebecca Minkoff Vanity Saddle Bag and couldn’t bring myself to purchase it full price after the sale (when it got restocked). My advice? Buy 2-3 Rebecca Minkoff bags and see which one you like best in person. My personal favorite is the Rebecca Minkoff backpack in grey (also in other colors) which I snagged this morning but I also love this chevron crossbody.

7. Jeans Under $40.

This is an item I was looking for! Last year, I bought these Articles of Society jeans for under $40 and have never looked back. A loyalist to premium designer denim, I thought there was no way I would like them. But sure enough, I did! There are tons of washes available so don’t be afraid to purchase multiple! There’s a reasonable amount of stretch so if you’re in between sizes, order down. If you’re not sure, order 2 sizes and return what doesn’t work!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that there is some Paige Denim in the sale! I’m a loyalist, like I said! Also, these AG skinnies were the most sold last year so if you’re an AG girl, do it up! Both of these brands run true to side and I find them to be a little more figure flattering for the girl with some curves like me.

8. Zella Workout Leggings.

There’s nothing like new leggings to re-motivate you into securing that perfect summer bod. Zella is one of the best brands because of the price, the patterns, and the fit. They run TTS so order what you normally wear. That athleisure trend never looked so good with these discounts!

9. Beauty Steal.

Steals are even better than deals. Last year, I snagged my favorite GLAMGLOW face mask in a set with 2 other masks for the price of one! Y’all know I’m a lover of skincare so my top pick is this Estee Lauder Radiant Skin Collection. Makeup-wise, I love these Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick sets (worn here). Not sure you can rock a bold lip? You can. Read this post to give yourself a little push.

10. Home Decor Items.

These Voluspa Maison Noir Tin Candles are so cute! The NSale is a great opportunity to pick up a few smaller, affordable home decor items to take your room to the next level. Need a little inspiration? See how I designed our guest bedroom.

I hope this list helps! Make sure to check back here on Visions of Vogue tomorrow for more top picks from the sale! And for the best items by category, check out my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Guide page!

Here are some of these pieces (last year’s version) for fall outfit inspiration until I have this year’s picks in hand! Matt and I are both taking tomorrow off work to run a few errands and shoot with the new goodies so check back!
