OOTD 1.18.18: Halogen Sweater

halogen sweater

Coral Bubble Sleeve Knit | High Waisted Skinny Jeans (33% off, size down one size) | Gold Statement Necklace | Beige Suede Heels | Bar Earrings | Marble iPhone Case

Accessories for walking to work:

I’m loving this Halogen sweater! The pleats at the sleeve and the bubble sleeves make this basic not so basic. I also styled this over a regular button down top here if you want to see another way to style it! It’s super soft as well and runs true to size. It can be worn tucked into your pants or alone and can be styled with any kind of bottom! The coral color is pretty subtle too so it can be worn with all your neutrals (beige, grey, black, white, blush, etc.). It’s just a really easy lightweight sweater to transition into spring with! I can just see this now with a white midi skirt!

When I asked for requests a few weeks ago, I got requests for more looks that had pants! This is one!! Remember that almost every single OOTD that I share on Instagram can be styled with business slacks or a pencil skirt. I’m all about versatility in my closet. I want to make sure I have pieces that can be worn with these bottoms should I ever go back into a corporate environment too! So even though I might not be required to dress as corporate for work, I try to make sure that the things I do wear can be worn in both (and usually on the weekend too)!

OOTD 1.11.18: Pink Sweater and White Button Down

Blush Bubble Sleeve Knit | Relaxed Fit Button Down | High Waist Skinny Jeans (size down one size, 33% off!) | Tan Pumps (30% off, similar for less!) | Tan Tote | $20 Marble iPhone Case

The color of this pink sweater gets me every time! I love the blush color! As I mentioned on Stories, I stock up on a bunch of different crewneck sweaters and button downs. That way, I can mix and match easily. This combination is definitely a little more relaxed fit. The button down I’m wearing is really slouchy – it’s a linen textured. However, you could bring back the structure with a crisper button down top really easily! I really love this one.

I love mixing up the sleeves on sweaters with button downs though. While I love the classic look, this keeps me entertained and actually gets me excited to go to work (if only to try a new outfit combination). I’m wearing my regular size in the sweater but I could have probably sized down. It’s a little more oversized but since I have a bunch of sweaters that are a slimmer fit, I wanted that. If you want it to hug your shape more, size down! You can also wear this pink sweater alone without the button down! This one also comes in 3 other colors if pink isn’t your thing!

These pumps are now on sale as part of Bruno Magli’s winter sale! They’re 30% off but available in limited sizes so grab them quick if you’re looking for a new pair of designer shoes! Otherwise, I love these classic pumps and of course, I wear these tan suede pumps all the time and they’re 40% off!

OOTD 12.18.17: Striped Sweater and High Waist Skinny Jeans

striped sweater and high waist skinny jeans by Chicago fashion blogger Visions of Vogue

Striped Ruffle Sleeve Sweater | High Waist Skinny Jeans (33% off, size down one size!) | Classic Black Pumps | Black Parka | UGG Boots (for the walk to work!) | Black Tote | Silver Bracelet

Did a little intro to why I started doing these OOTDs over on Instagram today! Basically, it’s to help you guys get some inspiration for work outfits. Since I’m still fully employed with a day job in finance, I know how hard it can be to pick out an outfit in the morning. You just have those days where you just can’t seem to find something or make what you thought would work, work. Hopefully, these posts have helped you and if nothing else, let you inside my thought process when I shop!

Since I know this week is going to be a pretty empty one in the office today, I’m bringing out this super soft sweater. It’s made of a chenille material – you know how I’ve been loving chenille lately! It’s incredibly comfortable which is a must when it’s winter time. You don’t want an itchy sweater. I can’t stand fabrics that irritate your skin! I’m wearing my regular size in this and it’s slightly short on me but remember that I’m 5’8″ and my torso is most of my height so it will most likely fit you perfectly!

My tip of the day for tall girls (or wearing anything crop) is to find a great pair of high waist skinny jeans. These are my newest favorites and they’re on sale. Just make sure to size down one size. They stretch a little but they are the perfect length – you can wear them with all your tall boots as well as booties. Love that versatility!

Also, for those of you that ask if I walk to work in heels, I don’t! I always wear my UGGs (at least lately). They’re so easy to slip into and they keep me warm on the walk.

OOTD 12.12.17: Black Sweater Dress & Burgundy Pumps

Striped Fit and Flare Sweater dress from Eliza J at Nordstrom with Black Sam Edelman Hazel Pumps. - OOTD 12.8.17: Black Sweater Dress & Burgundy Pumps by Chicago fashion blogger Visions of Vogue

Black Sweater Dress | Burgundy Pumps (called the “Allegra”, use code JENNA20 for an extra 20% off!) | Black Tote | UGGs (walking to work in them) | Black Coat | Marble iPhone Case

Ever since I got these burgundy pumps on sale, I’ve been dying for a chance to re-wear them (again and again). I’m a huge lover of the classic pump for the office (as you may have noticed). These burgundy pumps are by Bruno Magli and you can get 20% off with code JENNA20!

I’m wearing this new fit and flare sweater dress with them to keep things classy. I love that this dress is thicker, but not too thick. The cut is one of my favorites too for disguising wide hips. The long sleeves are great for winter too no mater what climate you live in! I’ve found a few more favorites by this designer too!

I’m walking to work in my UGGs and this coat today to stay warm! There is snow on the ground so I might even wear my favorite OTK boots. Last year I felt so restricted by having to layer up for the walk and then being uncomfortable and bulky all day. It also meant I had to sacrifice my style a lot because I was stuck in over the knee boots every day. This year, I learned my lesson! It’s been liberating!
