It’s been a burgundy end of the week over here! Going back to my uniform which is leggings, this burgundy cardigan, and a tunic. I feel like I’m consistently re-wearing this simple formula for the office during these months. I just change out my pumps and a few accessories! This cardigan already sold out once so I’m linking to a few alternatives in case it does again!
If you don’t own this $28 tunic already, buy it in every color that’s in stock! Trust me, you’re going to love it! I’ve heard so many success stories from you guys over on Instagram that you have purchased (and fell in love with) it too! It’s just so good for everything from wearing it with leggings to tucking it into business skirts. I will caution you that the v-neck in the front can be a little revealing at certain angles but not enough to deter me from wearing it to work! Especially under my favorite scarf!
I’ve also been walking to work in my Hunter Boots this week. The weather has been so unpredictable and a few days have brought some rain so this is my most logical option. They keep you relatively warm (with some cozy knits underneath) and the grip is great for snow or rain when the sidewalks are slippery.
This is how I’ll be wearing dresses until May! Just kidding. But really, since it’s too chilly to wear them the regular way, I’m going to play around with wearing them over leggings. Unless I somehow find the courage to walk outside in these freezing (literally) temperatures with bare legs between now and the end of winter, that is. I am wearing my regular size in this burgundy sweater dress and it fits well – not too tight and not too figure hugging either!
I told you guys I was going to find more ways to style these leggings! Now, they are going under dresses! I love these as an alternative to tights because they are thicker and therefore, warmer. I also layer thermal leggings under these faux leather ones when it gets colder. For more ways I’ve styled leggings for work, check here.
For my favorite tall boots for winter, this post has my 5 top picks! I usually wear the black suede “night out” boots in the office and the Hunters on my walk!
PS. I just got a new puffer coat that didn’t cost an arm and a leg! It’s also 33% off. Everything this brand does is really good quality!
Sweaters are a staple in everyone’s closet so when you have the opportunity to take a cute, trendy one and wear it to the office, that makes me incredibly happy. Perhaps it also makes me proud of myself… I showed this in the story but the cut of this cable knit sweater is a little non-traditional because it’s got a swing shape. I wasn’t sure how it would look layered over something but was thrilled when it worked. That just means there is more than one way to wear it and I’m all about that. I ordered my regular size! Here are the other 3 colors:
Breaking out these faux leather leggings again! I’ve been trying hard to show you guys all the different ways you can wear these to the office (browse them all here)! They’re incredibly slimming and I’m a firm believer that every girl should have one pair of these in her closet. They come in multiple colors and the brand just came out with a moto version this year which I also own (and adore).
A note on the button down! This top is by Frank and Eileen. They are really good quality button downs but also pretty pricey. I’ve been asked for a few recommendations for button downs lately and honestly, my go to is always J.Crew Factory. If you missed my sale picks in this past weekend’s sale alert, there were some slippers I’m obsessed with for under $30!
When it comes to Thanksgiving outfits, my number one priority is comfort. Being comfortable on a holiday that is all about eating is a must! If I think about outfits that are most comfortable to me, there are 2 that come to mind. So today, I’m sharing two Thanksgiving outfit ideas that are stylish and Thanksgiving worthy.
It’s been quite a whirlwind of a week! I’m finally back in Chicago (just in time for more rain). This week I was in NYC for 2018 financial planning meetings for my day job and I felt like I didn’t get even a minute of down time! Between meeting our NY based team, corporate meetings, and networking, I’m exhausted!
If you missed the first way I styled this cardigan, you can see how I wore it for a weekend look with a grey ruched bodycon dress here! It’s super soft and comes in 2 colors. Exactly what I want to be wearing on a Friday after a long week. I love the subtle pink hues and the heathered texture. When you’re wearing sweaters every day of winter, you want something unique!
