Matt and I went to a tree lighting this week at the Waldorf Astoria here in Chicago. Before they lit the tree, they said that is what Chicago considered the start of the holiday season! If you caught it on Instagram, the magic was real! It was so beautiful, not to mention romantic. And with the holidays almost here, you’re probably wondering what to wear. I got you!
This is how I’ll be wearing dresses until May! Just kidding. But really, since it’s too chilly to wear them the regular way, I’m going to play around with wearing them over leggings. Unless I somehow find the courage to walk outside in these freezing (literally) temperatures with bare legs between now and the end of winter, that is. I am wearing my regular size in this burgundy sweater dress and it fits well – not too tight and not too figure hugging either!
I told you guys I was going to find more ways to style these leggings! Now, they are going under dresses! I love these as an alternative to tights because they are thicker and therefore, warmer. I also layer thermal leggings under these faux leather ones when it gets colder. For more ways I’ve styled leggings for work, check here.
For my favorite tall boots for winter, this post has my 5 top picks! I usually wear the black suede “night out” boots in the office and the Hunters on my walk!
PS. I just got a new puffer coat that didn’t cost an arm and a leg! It’s also 33% off. Everything this brand does is really good quality!
When it comes to Thanksgiving outfits, my number one priority is comfort. Being comfortable on a holiday that is all about eating is a must! If I think about outfits that are most comfortable to me, there are 2 that come to mind. So today, I’m sharing two Thanksgiving outfit ideas that are stylish and Thanksgiving worthy.
So I took this photo as I was packing for my work trip this weekend! I had no idea what my hotel room would look like or even if there would be a full length mirror and didn’t want to skip a day! Let’s see how tomorrow turns out though… I’m not quite sure what I’m wearing!
I’m wearing this geometric print dress to work today for a bunch of meetings. The print makes a statement but the colors are subtle (black and white) so it’s appropriate for everything. It also is long sleeved so you can stay warm in the office. PS. if you’re a little weirded out by buying clothes off Amazon, don’t be. They have a really great fashion selection and it’s all legit stuff!
Pairing this dress with all black accessories too – I had limited space because I was trying to carry on so I really had to cut back on shoes and only brought one coat with me. It was a risk but so far, it’s not too cold here in NYC!
Y’all know I love a wrap dress. They are always so flattering and the sizing is a lot easier to get right since you’re just wrapping it around your body. For this teal dress, I’d recommend sizing up – especially if you are looking for more coverage across your chest! The fit is loose through the hips either way though which is great for girls with curves! If you wanted a high neck option with a beautiful floral print, I got you! Both dresses are by the same brand! Here are some more favorites including this one which is 40% off and $45!
Today’s outfit is relatively simple but I also shared this black trench coat I’ll be layering over this dress on my walk to work. It’s a warmer day in Chicago today so I’m taking a stab at breaking out another dress. I just don’t want to get into a run of wearing pants or denim every day! What I do need is to start playing around with tights! It’s something people never really wore in LA so I’ve been trying to avoid mastering that trend for awhile. Let’s see how I do on today’s walk…
