After moving to the Midwest, many styles that weren’t in my LA wardrobe quickly became part of it. Some were easy to adopt. Others took some time to master. How to wear booties and ankle boots were the latter. It isn’t easy and makes you more frustrated than you’d ever think you could get about shoes. I’m breaking down my tips!Read More
I love this cowl neck top so much!! It’s such a great top because it’s basically like a 3 in one (as I tried to show on my Instagram Stories). Of course I opted for my favorite color (grey) but there are 7 other great fall colors available! I’m currently debating between getting a second one in the dark green or burgundy. I’ll probably end up going with burgundy! Here are all the colors:
Order your regular size – I thought I sized down but I checked the tag mid-Instagram Story Session and realized that I am wearing a Small! I wouldn’t be able to size down and still wear it off the shoulder with my broad shoulders. Next time I wear this top, I’m going to try layering it over this $49 flannelor a relaxed fit button down! I feel like it will be really easy to style so many ways!
I have no idea where I got this statement necklace from so I linked to a few great silver options! Necklaces like this are stables for my wardrobe when colder weather hits because they are so slimming. You guys have seen me wear this tassel necklace in gold quite a few times here on VOV!
On another note, it’s definitely getting colder here so I’ve been walking to work in either the UGGs or the over the knee flat boots from last week’s roundup of the best tall boots for cold weather!
Whether you want to channel that chic NYC girl vibe or your workplace requires you be in an all black uniform, there’s an art to wearing all black. It’s not something that is mastered overnight. Despite how easy it sounds, it can present a few different challenges to achieve this flattering and slimming look. So let me break it down and share my tips on how to wear all black.
Today I’m spending a few hours in the New York office and then traveling back to Chicago so I wanted to be super comfortable (without wearing these leggings again). That meant breaking out this $19 striped topwhich is cotton and comes in 6 colors! I also own the white version as well as the olive. They are so good for layering under almost everything and at $19, it doesn’t break the bank either! Hallelujah! This is how to style your weekend basics for the office!
I also love how fuzzy this ivory cardigan is. The Ryder cardigan is another favorite of mine but this one is much fuzzier which means it’s cozier too. I needed a good white cardigan – one that wasn’t too white and this one is perfect. Just make sure to size down because it does run big!
It’s no surprise that I’m wearing these high waist jeans and black pumps again! Both are staples for my office wardrobe! In case you were looking for a different color pump, these come in 13 different colors and run true to size!
Excuse the photo!! This trip to NYC has been quite a test when it comes to my regular routine! I always wondered how people who travel all the time did it!
This black trench coat has been saving me this week – while not super heavy, it’s great when you have minimal space and about 4 different weather phenomenons to get through. It’s great quality so you don’t worry about it lasting more than one season. It will. It’s also 35% off right now!
I’m wearing my suit blazertoday for a more “business” look. This is my one and only! It’s definitely an investment piece but it’s the only suit I own and I wear it on interviews. I opted for a skirt suit and it hasn’t failed me yet! I’d definitely recommend investing in one suit, wearing it to your interviews (swap out the top when you need a change), and then rewearing both pieces separately. All full priced items at J.Crew are also 25% off right now with code GETSHOPPING (the good quality suiting rarely goes on sale so this is a good deal).
Other than that, I’m so excited to break out these leopard mulesagain. If you want more mule inspiration, check out today’s post with some red suede mules. I also share why mules should be in every business girl’s closet! Definitely size up a half size on these ones though. They also come in 2 more colors but I do love the leopard the best – it looks much more “formal” than the plain black. Bonus: they’re 40% off!
