While fall’s cool weather makes me terrified of the winter ahead, it also is a little romantic too. Who wouldn’t want to cozy up on the couch and binge watch The Office on Netflix? Matt and I have been re-watching the series lately, as well as baseball of course. But what if you want to get outside? Here are 5 fall date night ideas to try for today’s Friday Five!
I’m not a fan of tea. Gasp. I know. Personally, I’m not a fan of any warm beverage (yep, that counts out coffee too – shocker). However, I adore the concept of having tea. Just ask Matt. Last year in Ireland, I conned him into going to tea when we stayed at Ashford castle and it did not disappoint. The scones alone were worth all the teasing I got for the rest of the trip for making him drink the whole pot of tea. When we shot this post at the Langham here in Chicago, I saw that they did a tea too! So if you need something to wear, this lace blue dress gives me all the feels!
There’s nothing more intimidating than a Black Tie event. After you get past the initial excitement of how glamorous the affair will be, every girl worries about what to wear. With price tags on fancy dresses ridiculously high, let’s talk about affordable options. And let’s start with this black floor length gown. Hello perfection!
I said this a few times since the move but patios are big here. Really big. If an establishment has a few slabs of empty concrete in front of it, it transforms into an outdoor eating locale come summer. These odd little corners seemingly pop out of nowhere! Somewhere, someone decides it’s time to set up the planter boxes and chairs and poof! What do you have? A patio fit for a casual date night. But what do you wear? This off the shoulder dress. And how perfect is this one for this A Dress A Day series?
I am so excited to kick off a new series today! This series is all about my favorite thing: dresses. I originally wanted to post a dress a day for the entire month of May. However, Chicago’s weather had other plans. So, I’m starting today which is exactly halfway through the month!
Initially, I was really torn about not being able to start it on May 1. I had set a goal, did everything in my power to plan and prepare for it, and then Chicago suddenly became Seattle. Rain galore. But then I realized that this is my blog and for lack of a more original phrase, I’m the boss. Unlike in my day job, I get to make the decisions (except Mother Nature and I seem to be dueling for the CEO position right now). All that to say, I’m starting today because I feel like it. I’m going to try to do the full 30 days so make sure to check back daily. You can access all of these posts here or just look for anything titled “A Dress a Day”.
