OOTD 12.14.17: J.Crew Utility Jacket and Striped Tee

j.crew downtown field jacket and a striped tee

Olive J.Crew Utility Jacket (this has lasted for 6 years!) | $19 Long Sleeve Striped Tee | High Waisted Jeans | Thermal Leggings | Similar Riding Boots

Alternate Style: Red Flats | Red Plaid Scarf

This is literally my go to outfit. Any day that I just don’t have the inspiration to figure out something chic, I put on this combination. What I love about this utility jacket plus striped tee combination is that it actually looks like you tried! You can wear this on the weekend or to the office if you work in a casual workplace too!

This olive J.Crew utility jacket is one of my favorite purchases. Initially, I thought it was so overrated. However, it’s lasted over 6 years and it’s been through the washer. In my book, if something survives the washer (and doesn’t require dry cleaning), that’s a huge win. It’s just one of those basics that every girl needs in her closet. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve tried other military jackets too but this one just fits the best and has the most versatility!

This striped tee is another Nordstrom steal because it’s only $19. I wear it all the time whenever I want to incorporate a little more print into my outfit. It’s a great layering basic and since it’s under $20, you won’t feel guilty about buying it in multiple colors. There are 6 colors and prints total! I also like to wear this combination with a red plaid scarf! And in warmer temperatures, I swap out the boots for red flats. It looks really good, I promise!

These Tory Burch riding boots were one of my investment purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale earlier this year! I had been holding out, waiting for the sale to purchase! They’re out of stock now but I’ve rounded up some similar riding boots! I just love the way riding boots look with a good pair of skinny jeans.

OOTD 12.13.17: Leopard Moto Jacket and Faux Leather Leggings

leopard moto jacket and faux leather leggings

Leopard Moto Jacket (found it for 50% off!!) | $36 White Bubble Sleeve Blouse (comes in 6 colors, 33% off!) | Faux Leather Leggings | Thermal Leggings | Black Over the Knee Boots | Black Tote | Black Parka (33% off!)

The layers are coming out! I’ve had about as much as I can handle of trying to brave the cold. Today I am all layered up right down to the thermal leggings I’m wearing under these faux leather leggings. I love that you can actually layer under these leggings. Just another reason why I swear by them (not only for making you look skinny) but for practicality!

I’m going slightly bold with the leopard moto jacket but at 50% off, it’s such a steal that it’s a piece you won’t feel guilty about treating yourself too. It’s a great fabric that keeps it comfortable. Sometimes moto jackets can get really stiff which makes it hard to sit in them all day. It also causes them to make awkward sounds when you move. None of this is happening here! I love the more subtle colors of the leopard and am really excited to try it with other color combinations!

These black suede over the knee boots are my absolute favorite. Even though I’ll probably change into UGGs for my walk to work, you could easily walk around in these. I am just usually running late and walk slightly slower in a heel so I want to be able to walk my fastest so I’m not late! For more details on the boots, you can read this post for why they made my list of the best tall boots for cold weather.

Here are the other colors of the bubble sleeve top too! I really love the mauve (I own it and it’s gorgeous)!

OOTD 12.12.17: Black Sweater Dress & Burgundy Pumps

Striped Fit and Flare Sweater dress from Eliza J at Nordstrom with Black Sam Edelman Hazel Pumps. - OOTD 12.8.17: Black Sweater Dress & Burgundy Pumps by Chicago fashion blogger Visions of Vogue

Black Sweater Dress | Burgundy Pumps (called the “Allegra”, use code JENNA20 for an extra 20% off!) | Black Tote | UGGs (walking to work in them) | Black Coat | Marble iPhone Case

Ever since I got these burgundy pumps on sale, I’ve been dying for a chance to re-wear them (again and again). I’m a huge lover of the classic pump for the office (as you may have noticed). These burgundy pumps are by Bruno Magli and you can get 20% off with code JENNA20!

I’m wearing this new fit and flare sweater dress with them to keep things classy. I love that this dress is thicker, but not too thick. The cut is one of my favorites too for disguising wide hips. The long sleeves are great for winter too no mater what climate you live in! I’ve found a few more favorites by this designer too!

I’m walking to work in my UGGs and this coat today to stay warm! There is snow on the ground so I might even wear my favorite OTK boots. Last year I felt so restricted by having to layer up for the walk and then being uncomfortable and bulky all day. It also meant I had to sacrifice my style a lot because I was stuck in over the knee boots every day. This year, I learned my lesson! It’s been liberating!

OOTD 12.7.17: Burgundy Midi Dress & OTK Boots

Eliza J tie Neck Fit and Flare Dress in Burgundy for the office - OOTD 12.7.17: Burgundy Midi Dress & OTK Boots by Chicago style blogger Visions of Vogue

Burgundy Midi Dress (Nordstrom) | Black Over the Knee Boots | $20 Marble iPhone Case | Gold Earrings | Gold Stacking Ring | Black Puffer Parka | Black Tote

A bunch of you have asked me how to wear over the knee boots for the office. Well, here is just one example with this burgundy midi dress! I wholeheartedly believe that they are appropriate if done well. I will be the first to admit they can also be scandalous if done wrong but just be careful. No short dresses or skirts!

I love the way they slim your legs with this burgundy midi dress. If you missed my post on the best tall boots for winter, these made the cut 100%. I wore them last year to work, to date nights, and to days out with friends. They are quite versatile! And the best part? I didn’t have to buy new ones this year because they are in great shape. Even after wearing them 2-3 times every week for 7 months!

This burgundy midi dress is another favorite of mine. I love the slight mock neck (it’s not too confining so that it irritates your neck). The material is a good medium thickness too so it’s not too chunky and still flatters your figure. It would also make for a great holiday party dress! If you’re looking for other holiday party outfit ideas, check out this post and this one for inspiration!

OOTD 12.6.17: Rose Tunic & Ripped Boyfriend Jeans

blush pink tunic with distressed boyfriend jeans and bruno magli pumps - OOTD 12.6.17: Rose Tunic & Ripped Boyfriend Jeans by Chicago fashion blogger Visions of Vogue

$28 Dusty Rose Tunic | Ripped Boyfriend Jeans (Nordstrom)| Bruno Magli Alina Pumps  (20% off with code JENNA20)| Trench Coat | Beige Tote | $20 Marble iPhone Case

I die. How adorable are these Bruno Magli pumps? I love the little buckle on them and the heel height. You’ve heard me talk about Bruno Magli a few weeks back when they had a flash sale on a few items. I just got my order before we went on vacation and couldn’t wait to refresh my work pumps! You can get 20% off their site with code JENNA20 too if you’re looking for some new designer shoes!

As I mentioned on Instagram, this is definitely a more edgy work look. Since I’m wearing ripped boyfriend jeans, it’s not for every office but these shoes could easily go with any skinny jeans, work slacks, and work skirts too. Same goes for this $28 tunic! Just basically swap out these ripped boyfriend jeans for whatever your office wardrobe policy allows!

As a reminder, I’ve styled this tunic so many times here for work! It’s the best and I own it in 4 colors. It’s always coming back in stock in new colors so keep checking back. For more ideas check out all of my OOTDs and also look here for how to wear it with leggings!
