With tomorrow being the summer solstice, it’s time to talk about summer looks! Matt and I had a busy weekend and I found myself wondering what to wear. Barely coming out of winter, I had forgotten what people wear in warmth! But with a weekend of moderately good weather (aka some sun + a severe thunderstorm warning), I realized I needed to start thinking about this! And yes, to the people in the Midwest, thunderstorms are “moderately good”. You can’t be picky here! As long as your bones are not freezing, it’s good.
So, I’m obsessed. With Mexico. After going twice in the last month (unplanned but happened to work out), I know why people make it their top choice for a vacation destination. Sun on your shoulders, margaritas, and some pretty amazing food are a few reasons, to start. My most recent visit was a little girls trip to Riviera Maya. We stayed at Grand Velas Riviera Maya Resort. If you missed our last one to Sea Island Georgia, you can find the full post here. Suffice it to say I was really happy with the decision.
I finally got to see the flamingo wall!! This was one of the first spots I noticed when we moved to Chicago. When you’re going to our apartment from the airport, you pass this mural. So I mean it when I say one of the first! It’s pretty close to our apartment but for whatever reason, we hadn’t made it there until now. I wanted to wait for the perfect outfit to shoot there and by week 3 of A Dress A Day, I think I’ve found it!
Following yesterday’s post, I feel like it’s only appropriate to talk about what to wear on vacation after you’ve spent a day at the beach. Tight itchy fabrics are out. And TBH, pulling on some denim shorts just sounds like torture. Chances are, your skin needs a little TLC so lather on that Aloe Vera. Then, slip into this watercolor dress.
