Just like Tuesday’s post on the best spring dresses, I’ve been getting a bunch of questions about cute swimwear! While swimsuit shopping isn’t exactly my favorite thing to do, I do love a good deal. Especially on something that you don’t wear all that much if you live in a colder climate! So here are my favorite places to shop for affordable one pieces and bikinis (as well as some adorable options)!
Sometimes, you’re just tired of wearing pants. I’m breaking out this cowl neck dress finally! It’s above 50 here in Chicago so while it’s not exactly warm, it’s warm enough for dress weather. This dress is lightweight and such a great transitional piece for winter to spring. It’s also affordable!
I’m wearing my suede over the knee bootsat work but will be wearing my Hunter Bootsto and from work. It looks like there is rain in the schedule today! You never know what kind of weather you’ll get here in Chicago.
I am also breaking out my favorite statement necklace with this outfit as a way to dress this basic up. I love how it subtly acts to slim as well. Seriously get so much out of both necklaces I have like this. I own one in gold and one in silver so that way I’m covered with my warm and cool toned clothing. They also have a ton of bright statement colors too though!
These shoes are 40% off! What is better than pink suede flats? I shared them over the weekend and can’t believe they already went on sale. I love the cut of them – the backwards v is so unique. They’re such a great spring shoe. They run true to size too. Seriously, one of my favorite pink shoes for spring. I can’t say enough good things about them!
I’m also wearing this top that I got on sale as part of the Nordstrom winter sale. The tiered sleeves are fun for a little twist on regular work outfits. The material is prone to wrinkle so you should have a steamer ready before you put it on in the morning. We love this one. Matt uses it every day to steam his collared shirts.
These white jeans are coming out again too. I love the instasculpting technology of them and I’ve had them forever. I really need to get a new pair soon though because I’ve spilled so many things on them! They wash really well but after 4 years, they are looking a little old!
Even though spring isn’t here in Chicago, I’m loving this white on white combination. Or rather, ivory on ivory. This Free People thermal is the same one I shared last week that was on major sale. Sharing it reminded me that I should find a way to style it for the office. It’s one of those comfy weekend tops that I always love to find a way to make work appropriate. Even if it is a bit of a challenge. Nordstrom started their winter sale this past weekend so I found a similar $39 thermal!
My solution was to dress it up with a moto jacket. Mine is old but this one is a really similar one (that I actually own in another color). I also really love this draped one. I know you guys have been loving my moto jacket outfits lately so I’ve been trying to incorporate them more. A little jacket in the office also helps me stay warmer because I’m usually freezing in the office. Even with a heater under my desk!
I’m also wearing my favorite faux leather leggings for a more comfortable option. I find them appropriate for my office and am totally confident wearing them because this thermal is quite long. More like a tunic. If you’re not comfortable with it, easily swap it out for blue or black denim.
One last reminder about the Nordstrom sale that’s been happening lately – these boots are 50% off! I love them and own them in two colors. Even if it’s starting to get warm where you live, grab them for next fall. I love buying items at the end of seasons because the deals are just so much better. Definitely one of my tips for saving money!
Last week or maybe the week before, I got a request to do a round up of the best spring dresses. Even though some of us may feel like spring is far away (Chicago needs to get it together!), the calendar says it’s almost here. Dresses are kind of my thing. So here are my favorite dresses for when it finally warms up – by category, price point, and occasion!
PS. I love getting requests! If you have one, submit it here! Read More
