I’ve talked about it a little but Beautycounter has a “Clean Swap” promotion happening that ends tomorrow. And it’s AMAZING. You can get great quality Beautycounter products that don’t have any toxic chemicals for free. Here’s what this promo is all about.
My recommendation: The best way to take advantage of this Beautycounter products deal is to buy the Band of Beauty Membership, shampoo, mascara, and lipstick. Then in your shopping cart, select the face oil, a conditioner, and Countermatch lotion. You will also see a free gift of my favorite charcoal face mask ($49 value) get added to your cart automatically! Your order total should be $116 and you will get 15% of credit toward your next order making it under $100! And I love all of these product recommendations.
What is the Beautycounter products “Clean Swap” promo?
Most of our beauty products contain toxic chemicals. It doesn’t matter where you buy them – Sephora, CVS, Target – it’s kind of just the way it is for a variety of reasons. These toxins cause everything from minor skin irritations to cancer (yes, cancer!). If you’re curious to know more, read this post on ingredients or take a peek at my Ingredient of the Week series. I promise, I break it all down in an easy to understand way!
What Beautycounter has done is take some of the worst offenders in the industry, we’re talking the most toxic products, and made their own version of those products (which are 100% safe and non-toxic). These Beautycounter products all work extremely well, delivering the same quality of performance without all the bad stuff. And guess what. They’re part of this promotion!
So what do you get when you purchase one of these Beautycounter products? A free deluxe sample! They’re calling it a “sample” but what it really is, is a travel sized version of a product. Meaning, it’s better than a sample. It comes in an actual container (no flimsy packet like those Sephora samples) and there’s a substantial amount of product in each one so you can actually sample the product. Have you ever tried to use one of those Sephora samples more than once only to end up tossing it or being stumped how to store it partially used? Not the case with the Beautycounter samples. With spring break and warm weather travel around the corner, you can also slip these travel sized products into your suitcase!
Why are Beautycounter products so good?
Anyone who has ever shopped for higher quality anything knows that it comes at a price. Better and safer ingredients cost more to source. Therefore, the products that are better and safer for you tend to cost more. Unlike drugstores or Sephora, safe beauty brands aren’t always able to discount as much because of it. They’re too busy moving mountains, turning over a new leaf, to make ethical products available to us. Beautycounter even takes that one step further with their B-Corp certification and social mission to spend resources (and $) on getting legislature through Congress that starts to clean up beauty standards.
So if I’ve learned anything from reading labels and trying to navigate the world of toxic chemicals, it’s that when you see a sale, you take advantage of it. I’m all about making the most of your hard earned money! I consistently get asked for how to get discounts on Beautycounter specifically so today, I’m going to break down how to maximize the amount of free product you’re getting with this promo.
What Beautycounter products should I buy?
Step 1: Sign up for the Band of Beauty membership.
It’s a $29 fee annually and you can check out all the details/purchase here. However, you get:
- 15% credit on every order to apply to future orders. If you plan to place more than 1 order a year, it’s worth it.
- Free shipping on orders over $100. I recommend placing one bigger order every 2-3 months.
- Special offers and they change regularly.
- Free gift with a $50 purchase.
Did you need more? Wait for it! Right now, that gift is one of my favorite face masks ever. It’s just as good as the GLAMGLOW ones at Sephora, just without the questionable ingredients. If you’ve got oily or combination skin, that face mask is going to be your best friend. When it comes to financials, the face mask is regularly $49. So even if you don’t plan to purchase anything else… EVER, you’re getting a $49 product for $29. That’s 41% off!! Not to mention it’s legitimately a good product. I use it every week!
Step 2. Maximize the value on the Clean Swap promo products.
The Clean Swap promo allows you to get 1 free sample with the purchases of one product on the “worst offender” list. The max is 3 free samples! Therefore, I’d recommend purchasing 3 of the products in the promotion to really maximize the amount of products that you sample. This is one of the best deals I’ve seen in a long time and some of the products are truly amazing. There’s a reason why I use them every day!
So how do you do that? Buy the lowest priced products in the promo and choose the samples with the highest value. I’ve done the math for you! Here’s how the prices break down from lowest priced to highest priced. These are the products you can choose to purchase!
Hydrating Body Lotion in Citrus Mimosa: $25
Shampoo: $26
Mascara: $29 (I recommend the Volumizing one!)
Lipstick: $32 (Try Currant for a bold lip, Twig for a neutral, and Scarlet for a bold red!)
Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream: $39
Face Mask: $49
Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion: $49
Option 1: You can feel free to follow the logic of numbers and snag the body lotion, shampoo, and mascara but I’d recommend making a slight adjustment. You guys know I’d never recommend anything that I didn’t truly love and I’d pass on the Body Lotion. Their Body Oil is a better solution for dry skin and works miracles to give you that glow just like their Face Oil.
Option 2 (my recommendation!): I’d recommend getting the shampoo, mascara, and lipstick. For $7 more dollars, you’re getting better products (and ones that I use regularly in my own home).
Let’s look at the math of the samples. Here is the value of the sample from highest to lowest. I compared the size of the sample to the full sized version to get this value which is the reason for the weird numbers!
Face Oil No. 2: $17.41 (UPDATE: this sample sold out!)
Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion: $6.86 (UPDATE: this sample already sold out!!)
Conditioner: $5.20
Body Wash: $4.99
So, I’d recommend picking the Face Oil, Countermatch Lotion, and Conditioner as your samples to get the most value. I also use all 3 of these in my routine daily! The face oil is my last favorite scent but the main ingredients are the same in all the oils. Since face oil is usually pricey no matter what brand you’re buying from, this is a great way to sample face oil for free and test the benefits on your skin with little risk. Just ignore the scent. Look at the results. When you’re ready to invest in face oil, opt for No. 1 if you like citrus and No. 3 if you like floral or ylang ylang scents. I feel like face oil is a must for everyone’s skincare routine!
To add the samples, you will need to go to your cart and there will be a prompt at the top to add your free samples. You can select up to 3! If you have any questions or trouble checking out, email me here!
What is the end result?
40% off!
You’re spending $116 (pre-tax and shipping) to get $165.47 worth of product. That’s a 30% discount! On top of that, you get 15% in credit toward your next order. Including that 15% credit, you’re spending less than $100 making your total discount 40% or $67! And you get to try 7 different products for that price that are safe, non-toxic, and great quality!
So if you’ve been thinking about trying safer products or cleaning up your beauty routine, this is something I’d strongly recommend. It’s a great way to try a bunch of new products from one of my favorite brands at a significant discount. Trust me, they are so good! I use them in my night skincare routine, my morning skincare routine, and my makeup routine! I’ve truly noticed an improvement in my skin since I switched to safer products. So take advantage of this deal!
Love this post! What a great idea to detail the promotion.
