So obviously, I’m many years out of college. But with so many people talking about “back to school” mania, I can’t help but think about the good ‘ole days. So, here are 5 must have items that I would buy if I was headed back to the classroom this fall. If only I could do it all over again!

As always, you can check out all my Friday Five posts here. They are a “grab bag” of topics so if you’re not quite sure what you’re in the mood for, enjoy! You can always get to them on the menu bar above (under Lifestyle). Otherwise, check out all the new drop downs on the menu bar that I’ve added to make it easier to find what you’re looking for in Fashion, Travel, Home, Beauty, and Lifestyle categories!

sanctuary clothing dress

I’ve been swooning over Sanctuary Clothing’s Spring/Summer line lately. This high low dress has such a unique print and is the perfect piece for that effortless vibe. Paired with a jean jacket, this look is perfect for brunch with the girls or say, a BART brewery crawl for your friend’s birthday (that’s where I wore it)!

With this casual look, I also incorporated one of my favorite things to do in life: layer my jewelry. All of my gold pieces are from olive + piper – I love how unique every piece is yet they all tie together. This hand chain set comes with a great mix of pieces if you’re just starting out your collection. My favorite part is that everything is really affordable so you don’t have to break the bank if you want a ring on every finger.

Fringe and Floral

floral maxi dress

If I had to pick one print to define spring, it would be floral. If I had to pick one article of clothing to wear for the rest of my life, it would be a maxi dress. Not necessarily known for it’s universally flattering ability, I love it mostly because of comfort and practicality for daily tasks. So I deal. Comfort because it basically feels like you’re wearing pajamas all day (unless you pick one made of itchy material which is your own fault) without that whole restrictive element of pants. Practicality because you don’t have to spend double the time finding something to pair it with and you can sit cross-legged. And yes, efficiency and sitting like a child are two things I think about as I dress myself.

I’m assuming most of you have had your moment with fringe now that Coachella is over. But there is plenty more spring and a long list of festivals to come this year so fringe isn’t dead. This killer Dolce Vita bag is one of my favorites because not only can it be a purse but it can be a backpack. It’s 2 bags in 1. Super helpful especially when you’re going on vacation and need two different looks – it was a total savior on our trip to SF last weekend! You’re practically saving money by buying it. I use that rationale for everything and I’m still alive so feel free to borrow or make it your own.

PS. I’ve worn this Gorjana hand chain a lot lately – I love how delicate and different it is!
