Palm print is everywhere lately. It’s vibrant and fun which makes it a first choice for summer. And yes, I’m talking about summer already because I’ve learned there’s no such thing as spring in Chicago! Last week, we battled 5 days of rain across the Midwest. That means that right about now I’m dying for anything above 60 degrees. You might say, I’m dying to ‘Vacay All Day’ right about now and have a little more travel in my life…
This past weekend, my sister was in town from California and she brought the sunshine with her! While it was still a little chilly, we went to the Arlington Race Track on Saturday (photo here) to celebrate a few friends’ birthdays. Sunday was all about sight seeing! We walked down Michigan Ave, saw Cloud Gate (aka ‘The Bean’), and took the Architectural Tour (so good!).
While we were all bundled up this weekend, Matt and I did go out to dinner last week and I wore this palm print dress! Even though we got caught in a downpour about 5 minutes after these photos were taken, it gave me all the feels of summer. I can’t wait ’til we escape at the end of the month to Mexico! Nordstrom has this dress in 9 different colors so if you’re not into palm print, there’s definitely a color for you! I’ve linked to a few of my favorites below. I feel like the blush pink ones would make for a gorgeous bridesmaid’s dress. I wish I had found these for my sister’s wedding back in February!
If you are about the print, I happened to take a peek at other palm printed items at Nordstrom and found a bunch of cute ones. This off the shoulder romper is only $45 and it’s a little more subtle than the dress I’m wearing here! I also found a bunch of cute shorts in so many colors like this green high wasted tulip print and this red tropicana print! Both are under $50!
One of my other favorite things to buy lately seems to be these big beach totes. Mine is from White Elephant Designs but I browed the selection at Nordstrom and picked out a few of my favorites for you guys! I’m really loving this pink one with the cute poms. I had asked Matt which one to get from this sale and he picked blue. Now I’m thinking I need the pink (and I also should never ask him to decide for me again)!
I just love that you can find really affordable items like this on Nordstrom but also splurge worthy items as well. It just re-confirms why Nordstrom is my go-to whenever I have an event or occasion that I need to plan for. It helps that I live 1 block away from the Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue. Every time it’s cold here (so like, every day), I walk home through the mall which has it. I usually end up walking through the shoe section and beauty stands which it makes it really tempting to beef up my makeup (I rounded up my 5 favorite red lipsticks here) collection…
